A chiropractic adjustment, or spinal manipulation, is when a trained specialist uses their hands or instruments to deliver a controlled force to the joint. The goal of an adjustment is to improve joint movement and overall function.
Dr. Evans and Dr. Campbell are trained in different chiropractic techniques so we can customize each patient's treatment plan to fit their needs and preferences. We treat patients of varying ages, from infants, to pregnant patients, to those who have been sitting behind a desk for 20 years.
Acute Pain vs. Chronic Pain
Acute pain happens from an injury. You might hurt yourself playing tennis or hiking a favorite trail. Depending on your injury and your schedule, you can work with us to heal and reduce pain caused by the injury.
Acute symptoms are usually relieved in 1-4 sessions.
Chronic pain builds in the body over time, often due to misalignment, untreated injuries, repetitive motions, or stress. We will work with you to determine possible reasons for your pain and help you create a plan to address it. Since chronic pain develops over time, it takes time to heal and build strength to prevent further injury.
Chronic pain will likely need more attention: problems that are created over time need time to fix.
Dr. Evans likes to describe herself as a mechanic for the body. Chiropractic can help keep your joints moving and functioning to their best ability. By coming in for "tune-ups" we can prevent those acute injuries from occurring.
Every body is different, so everyone's maintenance schedule looks different depending on what you put your body through on a daily basis. The doctors will help each patient figure out what is best for them.
